Artists at the Seagull Gallery at Hornsea Bowls Club for October
By Stuart Kemp
PETER and Rosi Robinson are the artists of the month in October at the Seagull Gallery at Hornsea Indoor Bowls Club. The gallery is open to everyone to view during bowls club opening hours.
Peter and Rosi only moved to Hornsea late last year but have already made an impression particularly in the world of art. Peter has just retired as the vicar of Malton after being a vicar for 31 years, his previous appointments including the Isle of Man and an exchange position in Melbourne Australia. Peter and Rosi have moved 22 times but have now decided Hornsea will be their final location.
Rosi has an MA in Fine Art through the Open College of Arts and a City and Guilds in Embroidery as well as having won several art awards including the Sunday Times Isle of Man art competition for three years. Rosi currently has her work on display at 35 Chapel Walk Gallery in Sheffield, and Pineapple Black in Middlesbrough.
The couple have joined Hornsea Art Society and were both involved in Hornsea Open Studios and with the group’s stand at Hornsea Carnival. They have both always shared a love of art and it was on the Isle of Man that Peter was inspired by a local artist Norman Sayle.
