The AGM of Hornsea Town Council was held on Monday 14th May and, as is traditional, the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor were elected and handed the chains by the retiring Mayor. Keith Himslett has begun his second term as Mayor and Andrew Eastwood has been chosen as Deputy. In his declaration of acceptance Mr Himslett thanked the outgoing Mayor Anne Padgett for her hard work and named the new Community First Aid Centre as his chosen charity.
The new Mayor also welcomed Kevin Nicholson (right) onto the Council following his success in the by-election for the North Ward the previous week. The results were as follows: Kevin Nicholson 482 votes, Tim Bunch 405 votes, Keith Whittle 161 votes. There was a 21% turn out which is double the average for by-elections.
